I just realized that I haven't given a very objective portrait of Houston. Here goes: My favorite thing and the thing I miss the most is the rain--the thunderstorms in Houston are magnificent and humbling. I don't like dithering, peckish rain; I like rain that can flay you alive--stinging, cathartic rain that can last for days.
